A Round-up of Some Interesting Stuff

I have a need to purge a whole bunch of ‘Starred Items' in my RSS Reader. Sorry if you’ve seen them before and I’m slightly behind:

WPF

• Karen Corby gives us a peek at the Visual State Manager for WPF.
• Lester releases XamlPadX 4.0
• A big deal in the release of .NET 3.5 SP1 is the ‘Client Profile’ to remove the barriers to downloading the framework. Jaime explains here, and Mike Taulty continues here and here.
• Codeplex now has a template for SplashScreens for WPF applications.

Silverlight

• Adam Kinney recommends zero-length storyboards for procedural animation in Silverlight.
• Michael Sync covers the making of DeepZoomObama (it’s surprisingly easy thanks to the Mosaic tool mentioned and I’ve now done a few of my own.)
• Animated Layouts from Robby Ingebretsen.
• Mike Ormond shows us some smart work on custom tilesets for DeepZoom, and then gives us the code.
• He then follows up with a great post on LINQ to JSON.

Virtual Earth

• Chris Pendleton has a round up of interesting Virtual Earth development.
