I think one of the best parts of looking after Evan will be when she's old enough to appreciate the creative talents of her dad (I make a mean papier-maché pig from a balloon, two corks and a bit of an egg carton).
So the next part of my exploration of Geekdad-ness this weekend was to create some stop motion video. Chris does a review of 2 common pieces of software on the blog.
I used Stop Motion Pro in the end - Chris reported problems with cameras but it was fine with my Canon EOS350-D and LifeCam NX-1000 (which is what the stuff below was shot with). I had a quick go with iStopMotion on LadyH's MacBook and although it's a lovely piece of software it wouldn't pick up any of my cameras (Sony DVR either which I didn't try with SMP).
The only problem with SMP is the price. Although the Junior version is cheap, if you want the Canon control capabilities then you have to upgrade significantly. Shame.
Anyway, check out my two very poor initial efforts...

OK - enough Geekery for one weekend...
