Little Promises Waiting To Be Broken

Too true. One of the things I love about agile or lean methodologies - read more from my friend Portia here – is not the benefits they have for the actual process of software development, but the practices they introduce that empower the team – which can only mean improved spirit and creativity (there’s some PANAS stuff that explains that happy people are more creative and productive).

So, introducing process to “de-risk” any creative activity seems unlikely to work. A process is just a little promise waiting to be broken, with all of the mental baggage that creates.
