My buddy Mark (yes, another one) has put up details of the Microsoft Student Technology Day that was held on the 1st October on the south bank in London.

It was an interesting event not least because Steve Ballmer was in town and keynoted the event, but also for the range of topics which included stuff like Surface, how True Ranking works in Halo 3 and the science of doing Live Search.

At the risk of sounding like a grouchy old man: back in my day we would still fight over green- or brown-screen terminals, and whether the whole notion of hypertext would ever catch on…
