I've just finished reading The Goldilocks Enigma. Reading it that is, as opposed to understanding it.
If you're interested in all things related to Life, the Universe and Everything, then there's probably more in this book that offered by Deep Thought. Although the maths behind 42 are probably easier to understand.
The main reason I'm mentioning this is to describe one of those mind-expanding moments. Talking about probabilities, the book reminds us that despite everything, you are the product of an unbroken chain of successful pro-creation from the first thing that we can describe as life. So one of your ancestors was indeed a fish (if you subscribe to Darwinian evolutionary theory of course).
This sort of revelation - that I already knew but don't think about - makes my brain hurt, but I find it invigorating. There are plenty of others in there too, and I'd recommend the book if you like a challenge.
